Our application is written using IFC for the GUI,
but this still of course translates to using AWT.
Frames can be told to not resize, but this does
not effect the state of the Maximize features of
the Window NT native window. In my opinion maximize
should be considered resizing, and should therefore
be disabled. The main window of our app and what
it contains was designed as a non-resizable window.
While this may be a questionable practice in itself,
it does not change that fact so some applications
are not going to want/need to handle the ability
to be maximized. What of simple one window apps that
are more like dialog boxes than anything else. They
won't want minimize or maximize. Access to settings
to disable/enable these widgets should be provided.
