NS 6.1 browser gets killed while loading the applets on RH linux 7.1

Browser : NS 6.1
Build : Merlin B71
Platform : RH Linux 7.1

Problem Description : NS 6.1 Browser is getting killed while loading applets

Steps to reproduce :

1.) Install the Java Plugin from
/net/sqesvr/deployment3/merlin/beta/linux.b71/

2.) setup a softlink under /<JRE>/components/libjavaplugin_oji140.so pointing to /<jre>/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji140.so

3.) Invoke any applet using NS 6.1 browser from the below link
http://sqesvr.eng.sun.com/deployment1/ws/doc/proc/JPI_bat.html

Result : The browser gets killed while loading any of the applets, Initially it shows the progress bar while loading the applet and then browser gets killed.

P.S : I have also attached the error log which gets created when the browser gets killed.

This problem also exists with merlin beta-refresh build-72 on Linux Redhat 6.2
