Error message on specifying Invalid Directory to Installer

    Details

    • Subcomponent:
    • CPU:
      x86
    • OS:
      windows_2000

      Description

      OS - Windows
      hardware - Intel

1.Double Click j2sdk.exe build-80 to start installing JDK
2.Specify an invalid directory ( say j2sdk1.4.0-beta@#$^&()*' )to installer with * or ' character
      3. As Expected Installer will pop up an error message saying
"The Specified Folder is invalid , incomplete or write protected .
Please type a full path with drive letter; for example C:\APPS " which is right error message
      (See image attached invalid_dir.gif)
4.Now remove charcters * and ' from above invalid directory ,
Installer will not pop-up above error message instead it will proceed further to install JDK
5.When installer starts copying files it gives an error message
"The Following error occured on file d:\j2sdk1.4.0-beta@#$^\bin\Html3e38.rra .
System cannot find the path specified (0x3 )
      (see image attached invalid_dir_abort_ignore.gif )

if directory naming in this weird way is not being supported , User should be prompted with an error message while he/she is specifying this kind of directory and installation should not be allowed to proceed further
