    Details

    • Subcomponent:
      2d
    • CPU:
      x86
    • OS:
      linux

      Description

      Platform tested : Linux 7.1
Build 81 in comparison to Build 80.
      Hardware Pentium-4

J2DBench shows Opaque scaled images are much slower on Linux 7.1 on b81 than on b80. Please refer to Test reuslts for build 81 at :

      http://xanadu.india.sun.com/~mg121047/j2dbenchb81/j2dcomp.html

Scaled Opaque images are 10 X slower on Linux 7.1 b81 than on b80.There is a certain performance improvement though for nonscaled (original size) images .

My Observation is that while BitMasked images (non scaled ) have one up in terms of performance to about 3 times Scaled bitmasks have come down three times. (Scale can be 0.5 time the original size of the Image or 1.5 times the original size )

I have not had time to regress the bug any further , shoudl you want me to do it I shall be pleased to help you . A latest copy of J2DBench is as attached .

J2DBench can be run as per procedures to be found :
