      Description

Swing/2D seems to be completely broken on Windows Vista Home Premium with the 6u4-b01 PIT build. Swing components appear black and takes lot of time to come up. Some 2D renderings do not come up at all and the window becomes blank. There are sporadic crashes with FullScreen, BuffStrategy applications.

I reproduced it with Nvidia GeForce 6200 video card with the driver 162.22. I tested on another Vista Enterprise machine having the same video card and similar artifacts are seen on that machine as I well.

I have attached some screen-shots of how things look like.

I have also given a link to detailed reports under 'Comments'.
There seems to be a problem with Vista + Nvidia GeForce 6200 combination. I tried executing tests on WinXP Home with the same video card and none of these issues are reproducible. The driver version for WinXP is 162.18.
I am still able to reproduce the bug on Vista Enterprise with the specified Nvidia card. I tried installing the latest driver - 163.75 but that did not help. Swing UI takes a very long time to appear and even if it appears, there are lot of black areas. I tried executing SwingSet2 demo and Java2Demo with J2D_TRACE_LEVEL set to 4 and I have attached the console output to this bug report (java2demo.txt, swingset2.txt). I also tried few other small swing apps and noticed the same issue. I also tried with -Dswing.bufferPerWindow=false but that did not improve anything.
