      Description

      SYNOPSIS
      --------
Alt+Key menu access stops working when exporting SwingSet2 to a remote display

      OPERATING SYSTEM
      ----------------
      Linux
(Tested on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.1 (x86_64 machine))

      FULL JDK VERSION
      ----------------
      JDK 7
Does not occur with Java 6

      DESCRIPTION from LICENSEE
      -------------------------
When running SwingSet2 demo, alt+key combinations to access the menu items stop working after some random clicks on the demo. This issue only occurs is being raised based on the observation while porting the display of the SwingSet2 demo running on the Linux machine to a Windows machine using an X server (Cygwin on the Windows machine - other X servers (Windows or otherwise) have not been tested).

Alt+key functions (example: alt+f to access the 'File' menu) works initially when the SwingSet2 demo starts. However after trying different demos randomly, the alt+key combination fails to access the menus. The problem could be reproduced in Linux IA32 as well.

      REPRODUCTION INSTRUCTIONS
      -------------------------
Here are the steps to reproduce the issue:

      1. Open SwingSet2 demo on Linux AMD 64 machine. Export the display to a
Windows machine (may be using X server).
      2. Once the demo is running, just verify once that menu items are
accessible using the alt+key combination. For example, press alt+f
and see whether 'File' menu opens up. (It will work)
      3. Click on the Radio Button demo
      4. Click on the Color Chooser demo
      5. Click on the JComboBox demo
      6. Click on the JFileChooser demo
      7. Click the 'open plain file chooser' button on the JFileChooser demo.
      8. Once the file dialog opens up, press ESC to close the dialog.
      9. Now try, alt+f to open the 'File' menu. (It doesn't work <-- Issue)

You can try any alt+key combination like (alt+t for themes etc) to see whether the respective menu opens up. Everything will stop working after step 8. You can try different combination for steps 3 to 8. It is just that after some random clicks on the demo controls, the alt+key combination stops working.

      WORKAROUND:
      -----------
None using keyboard. The menus, however, are still accessible using the mouse.
