Description
FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
java version " 1.7.0_25 "
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b15)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
Hello,
I did a clean install of OS X 10.8.4 in a VM (VMware Fusion). After installing the system, I downloaded the JDK 7u25 from the Oracle site and installed Java.
In Terminal I can run java -version and get the expected result.
When I try to open the Control Center from the System Preferences, java crashes.
When I go to java.com to verify I have Java installed, I first get the " disabled plug-in " message, I can enable it but the java applet is not showing up.
When I try to run ControlPanel from
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin
I get the error message provided in the Error Message field
I don't have any problems with my 10.8.4 that has been updated from 10.8.3., 10.8.2 etc. This only seems to occur on a fresh install.
PS: I also notice in a 10.9 (from scratch) installation
Hope this helps
Kind regards,
Alex
