When using an HTML data flavor, pasting non-Latin char into an applet the
"start and end fragment" surrounds text.
When the Turkish capital I (İ) is pasted (using an HTML data flavour)
into EditLive! when using a Windows machine with Java 7, start and end
fragment are shown.
The startfragment and endfragment boxes are the JEditorPane's default
rendering for unknown HTML tags (in this case, the comments in the HTML that
indicate the start and end of the clipboard fragment).
These should not be visable.
It happens on firefox and chrome as well. I have tried changing between
FireFox, IE and Chrome for both steps in the process:
- copying the character from copy.html
- pasting the character into the applet
For a total of 9 test runs. All 9 exhibited the start and end fragment
appearance as in the screenshot. Windows 8, Java 7u17.
Run the attached testcase.
1. Review screen capture.
2. unpack the attached zip file
3. deploy the applet
4 launch the test page
5 open the html file containing Turkish I
6. copy and paste into the test applet. - start and end segment tags are
