[macosx] Aqua: java/awt/image/multiresolution/MultiresolutionIconTest.java

    • Type: Bug
    • Status: Open
    • Priority: P4
    • Resolution: Unresolved
    • Affects Version/s: 9, 11, 14, 15
    • Fix Version/s: tbd
    • Component/s: client-libs
    • Environment:

OS X/macOS, jdk9 recent builds (140 and later)

This test fails on OS X/macOS wih Aqua LaF on JButton and JToggleButton. Printing the color picked, one could see that actual color picked is not exactly red (255,0,0) as expected but just mostly red, usually (237, 0, 0) -- but on both very different machines where I run the tests.
Indeed, it's strange that this 237 is the same on iMac with NVidia and macmini with very old monitor and Intel Iris. Color profile is always "Generic RGB".

Now, I don't know how obliging is that color profile settings for OS X. Perhaps it's just a hint. Anyway, some research is necessary.

That said, the icon is a (n almost) red square in all cases, so there's no regression as far as we can see. At the same time, I cannot say it is a test bug.

RULE "java/awt/image/multiresolution/MultiresolutionIconTest.java" Exception java.lang.RuntimeException: test failed
