Minor typo in java.time package summary

    Details

    • Type: Bug
    • Status: Closed
    • Priority: P4
    • Resolution: Won't Fix
    • Affects Version/s: 8, 9, 10
    • Fix Version/s: None
    • Component/s: core-libs

      Description

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
The package description section starts with:
"The classes defined here represent the principle date-time ..."
In all likelihood the author meant to use the "principal" adjective, not the "principle" noun. This makes the sentence incorrect and initially confusing.

      EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
      EXPECTED -
The sentence should instead start with:
"The classes defined here represent the principal date-time ..."
      ACTUAL -
"The classes defined here represent the principle date-time ..."
