Audio inputs cannot be accessed on OS X 10.14

    Details

      Description

      ADDITIONAL SYSTEM INFORMATION :
      OS X 10.14 Mojave, JRE 8u181

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
OS X 10.14 added a new privacy feature requiring applications to be approved to access audio inputs. Even after clicking OK on the system dialog to add a Java app to the list (and the app appearing in the list of apps with microphone access) audio inputs do not provide data. Each time the app tries to start the audio input the system privacy prompt appears again.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
Start a TargetDataLine in an app running under OS X 10.14

      EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
      EXPECTED -
Audio data is provided, at least after clicking OK on the system prompt to allow the app to access the microphone
      ACTUAL -
Audio data is not provided and the system prompt to allow microphone access appears whenever trying to start the TargetDataLine.

      FREQUENCY : always
